CTR/Hayco is a multinational manufacturing company looking for an Material Planning Manager to join our team in Portugal.
Job Purpose
Execute material planning and purchasing activities to ensure timely supply, inventory control, and production support. Collaborate across functions and contribute to supplier performance and cost improvement efforts.
Job Responsabilities
- Coordinate daily purchasing operations to ensure timely material delivery and inventory alignment.
- Support risk mitigation efforts by identifying potential supply issues and proposing solutions.
- Collaborate with Planning, Customer Service, and NPI teams to synchronize supply and demand.
- Participate in NPI, cost reduction, and improvement initiatives from a purchasing perspective.
- Monitor PO status and take action to reduce excess and obsolete materials.
- Track material exposure from customer forecast changes and report to leadership.
- Support implementation of tools and processes that enhance purchasing efficiency.
- Maintain supplier communication and contribute to effective purchasing strategies.
- Assist in resolving purchasing issues and support cross-functional coordination.
Requirements/Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, Operations, Logistics, or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in Purchasing, Material Planning, Procurement, Supply Chain, or a related function, preferably within a manufacturing environment.
- Previous experience in team leadership, supervision, or coordination; first-level management experience is preferred.
- Solid knowledge of purchasing, MRP/material planning, inventory management, supplier management, and supply risk mitigation.
- Experience managing material shortages, supplier delivery performance, purchase orders, inventory exposure, and excess & obsolete materials.
- Experience supporting NPI, cost-reduction, and continuous-improvement initiatives.
- Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems and strong Microsoft Excel/data-analysis skills.
- Professional proficiency in English (B2 minimum; C1 preferred).
- Strong leadership, communication, negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively across functions and manage priorities in a dynamic manufacturing environment.
